Two adjacent speculative single family residences combine classic city dwelling architectural vocabulary with the discipline of clear planning. As both homes are designed for flowing interior space, the principal rooms are generously sized and open to each other as well as to the broad outdoor patios and roof decks. The exterior of the homes speak to a similar and familiar character of the neighborhood while becoming individualized from one another by stone and masonry facades in a non-repetitive vocabulary.
In response to the identical program for each home, internal planning encourages a maximum amount of openness among the main rooms without resorting to the undifferentiated spaces endemic to so much contemporary speculative design.
